The Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is an integral part of Daimler Trucks. As one of the leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles in Asia, MFTBC produces light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks for the most diverse operating conditions.
The trucks developed and produced by FUSO are characterised by robustness and high economic efficiency. With its centre of excellence for light-duty commercial vehicles and the Global Hybrid Center for advanced hybrid technology, FUSO makes a valuable contribution to developing and consolidating cutting-edge expertise within Daimler Trucks. FUSO is also a technology driver – and not only in the Asian region. Its DUONIC is the first fully automated dual clutch transmission for light-duty trucks worldwide, for example.
Our FUSO products at a glance
The trucks portfolio comprises the following FUSO vehicles:
  • Light-duty trucks such as the FUSO Canter, the FUSO Canter Eco Hybrid and the FUSO Canter Guts
  • Medium-duty trucks such as the FUSO Fighter
  • Heavy-duty trucks such as the FUSO Super Great
Since May 2013 MFTBC has been producing five new robust and fuel-efficient FUSO truck models at the Chennai plant of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) for selected export markets in Asia and Africa, along with the Aero Star urban bus and the Aero Queen touring coach. The models cover a broad spectrum of applications, from industrial and commercial use through goods transport to public service operations.

The FUSO trucks are true professionals when it comes to fuel efficiency and overall economy.
  • The FUSO Canter Hybrid was developed specifically for stop-and-go traffic in densely populated Asian countries such as Japan, and received the "Car of the Year Special Award" in 2012.
  • The FUSO Canter Eco Hybrid truck runs on up to 23 percent less fuel with a conventional diesel engine.

Quality-conscious manufacturer in export markets
FUSO enjoys a reputation as a quality-conscious manufacturer in the key export markets in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The FUSO brand name dates back to 1932, when the name was given for the first time to a bus which was built at the shipbuilding and mechanical engineering factories of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Kobe.
Daimler AG acquired a 43 percent shareholding in Mitsubishi spin-off Mitsubishi FUSO in 2003. Since 2011, Daimler has held a stake of just under 90 percent.
FUSO and Nissan have been cooperating in the area of light-duty trucks since mid-2012, through Daimler AG's strategic alliance with Renault-Nissan.
The FUSO trucks are produced at the Japanese plants in Kawasaki, Toyama, Kitsuregawa and Aikawa. The factory in Chennai, India, was added to this network in 2012.
