Every year at the start of June, application opens for enrollment in October of the following year. The close of the application process is determined by the number of applications received and the course being applied to. Deadlines can therefore vary greatly and you are advised to get your application in as early as possible.

Academic grades are just one of several selection criteria. In order to ensure equality of opportunity for all applicants, the application process is fully transparent.

General or subject-linked university entry standard

  • Average Abitur grade of 2.7 or higher
  • or average grade of 2.7 or higher for last two results
  • Average grade of the last two mathematics results: 10 or higher
  • Other subjects will also be considered where necessary.

Technical college entry standard (Fachhochschulreife, FHR)

  • Average grade of 2.0 or higher in FHR
  • Average grade of 2.0 or higher for last two results
  • Average grade of 2.0 or higher for last two results in both mathematics and German.
  • Applicants must have passed the admission test for DHBW*.

*The DHBW admission test can also be taken during the selection process.

  • or average grade of 2.5 or higher for last two results
  • International courses: 2.3 or better
  • or average grade of 2.3 or higher for last two results
  • Average grade of 10 or higher for last two results in mathematics, English, and German.

  • Average grade of 2.0 or higher in FHR
  • Average grade of 2.0 or higher for last two results
  • Average grade of 2.0 or higher for last two results in mathematics, English and German.
  • Applicants must have passed the admission test for DHBW*.
