Structure of technical vocational training

You will learn all the key principles of your chosen field in our training workshop and in projects, coming into contact with the latest technologies right from the very start. After the basic training, you will apply and build on what you have learned with placements in manufacturing, for instance, or in the service departments and working on diverse projects – the ideal combination of theory and practice.

Half-way through your traineeship you will take your intermediate exam/part 1 final exam. At the end of your traineeship is the final exam/part 2 final exam – and you are fully fledged in your chosen occupation.

Technical vocational training

Bring our cars into shape. Manufacture components from a variety of materials and fit these together to form assemblies or entire body segments. Shape thin sheet metal and use welding and joining technology.

On this traineeship (max. three and a half years) you gain detailed knowledge of metalworking as well as joining and metal forming techniques, learn to produce custom-fit body components from a variety of materials such as steel, aluminum and plastic, and to join them using techniques such as welding, soldering or adhesive bonding. The production of auxiliary structures, jigs and fixtures and templates forms part of your training, as do the control and maintenance of modern machinery, equipment and IT systems involved in the production process. You are also trained to select and implement testing procedures and test equipment.

Make sure we can produce cars in series. Control the technical processes involved in series production and optimize, operate and maintain the industrial robots and production equipment.

On this traineeship (max. three and a half years) you learn the principles of automation engineering, control engineering and instrumentation engineering, and how to apply them. You assemble and dismantle modules, build and set up automated manufacturing systems. In addition to this, you install and configure operating systems and application programs. As part of your traineeship you not only measure, evaluate and calculate electrical and physical quantities, but also take account of production links and interfaces and how they interact with automation systems. Lastly, you maintain electrical, electro pneumatic and electrohydraulic components and drives and locate defects in automated systems.

Produce the very heart of all cars: the engine. Cast cylinder heads, timing-belt covers, oil sumps and other engine components and transmission parts, and operate complex melting and casting equipment.

On this traineeship (max. three and a half years) you learn to apply the principles of manual and mechanical metalworking, and learn to use different casting techniques and how to prepare castings on your own. You also learn to manufacture workpieces using a variety of methods. The use of melting and holding equipment forms part of your training, as does learning about the principles of precision measuring and control engineering. Ensuring the ultimate in quality. Inspect materials using the very latest methods. Analyze the causes behind even microscopically small faults in material and document your findings in text and pictures.

On this traineeship (max. three and a half years) you are taught about material testing procedures and complex testing techniques such as X-rays, ultrasound and eddy-current testing, as well how to prepare metallographic specimens and assess microstructures, particle sizes and inclusions. Operate and service a variety of machines and equipment for destructive and non-destructive testing, and perform investigations on defective components to determine the cause of faults. The basic skills of metalworking form part of your training, as does the monitoring of consistent quality in the heat treatment.

On this traineeship (max. three and a half years) you learn about metalworking and manual and mechanical material processing, the principles of control engineering, e.g. pneumatics and hydraulics, plus mechanical production of precision parts in line with design drawings, work schedules and process procedures. You also gain knowledge in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics. Put our cars through their paces. Diagnose defects and malfunctions and rectify them. Work with cutting-edge measurement analysis and test engineering technology.

During your apprenticeship, which lasts a maximum of three and a half years, you are trained in the key areas of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, or systems and high-voltage technology, depending on your location. You are responsible for the assembly, disassembly, servicing and maintenance of the vehicles in question and the installed assemblies and systems, based on your main area of specialism. Mechatronic systems such as braking or steering systems, automatic transmissions, chassis systems, and engine management are characterized by the complex interaction of electronics and mechanics they involve. You should therefore be confident with automotive mechanics and automotive electronics (mechatronics).

Learn to service and repair motor vehicles and their systems. Use technical manuals and computer-assisted diagnostic equipment to check and analyze the performance of electric/electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Learn to recognize defects and malfunctions and how to rectify them. Service vehicles and their systems, put them in operation and test whether they meet road traffic regulations. We also teach you how to handle and advise internal and external customers.
