The Daimler Trucks umbrella encompasses five strong truck brands, offering tailor-made applications and pioneering technologies all over the world.
Commercial vehicles – no economy in the world can function without them
Food, clothes, furniture, construction materials – these and countless other items are transported by truck from point A to point B every day. As the biggest globally active manufacturer of trucks above six metric tons we have a worldwide presence and are able to build the right trucks for each specific market. Our international family is made up of five brands. Whether the name is Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, FUSO, Western Star oder BharatBenz, they all share one thing in common: We build Trucks you can trust. We have vehicles to suit every purpose, with a product range that includes light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks for long-haul, local distribution or construction site operations. The portfolio is rounded off by a range of special vehicles for municipal use.
Geared to market and customer requirements
We offer our customers the leading-edge technologies that they need for their business to be successful. When it comes to efficiency and fuel economy, safety and connectivity, we lead the way and continue to raise the bar in these areas. The best evidence for our technological leadership is provided by our autonomous Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025, as well as by the first autonomous truck licensed for use on public roads in Nevada/USA, the Freightliner Inspiration Truck.
Our brands give us a global presence that enables us to offset regional market weaknesses. Our aim is to strengthen our leading position in traditional markets further, whilst gradually establishing ourselves in new markets. The systematic localization of our operations in India, for example, ensures that we offer the right products, making us now - just a few years after market entry - a solid parameter in the Indian heavy-duty trucks market. At the same time we are using Indian-produced trucks to penetrate new markets, for example in Africa and Asia. Joint Ventures give us access to important emerging markets such as Russia and China.
We continue to exploit our strong technological position and global presence to the best of our ability in order to boost our business – with the help of intelligent platforms and shared modular component systems. This enables us to deliver trucks that are tailored to our customers' needs, wherever in the world they may be, and at the same time to leverage our size to gain competitive advantage.
