Mercedes-Benz Archives and Collection
The origins of the Mercedes-Benz Archives and Collection are in historical archives founded in 1936 by the former Daimler-Benz AG; they have one of the largest industrial archives in Europe. The archives collect written material and artifacts from more than 120 years of automotive history as well as the history of Daimler AG and its originating companies. Every year, some 10,000 inquiries from all over the world are answered, dealing with a broad spectrum of topics.
The Mercedes-Benz Archives and Collection are structured into four sections:
  • Product History and Archives
  • Company- and Media Archives
  • Archives Library
  • Collection
The Mercedes-Benz Archives are open to the public but users have to make appointments in writing in advance. The guidelines for the use of the Archives are available here on the internet or sent to interested parties upon request.
