Daimler’s commitment to environmental protection has been recognized with the environmental certificate according to ISO 14062. The environmental certificate, issued by “TÜV Süd”, a German testing agency specializing in technology and environmental protection, is based on an extensive lifecycle assessment in which every environment-related detail is recorded and documented.

Environmentally friendly materials in automobile manufacturing

The environmental certification procedure involves critical examination of over 40,000 individual processes, which are analyzed, calculated and assessed to yield an extensive eco-profile. The assessment does not focus solely on the effects during the utilization phase. All environment-related processes are tested, from development through production and utilization to recycling. This overall profile forms the basis for the environmental certificate.
