Mercedes-Benz M-Class, R-Class, and GL-Class
The plant traditionally manufactures SUVs (M-Class, GL-Class, and R-Class).
Since 2012, the plant has also produced vehicle assembly kits for the new M-Class and GL-Class, which are shipped to India, Thailand*, and Indonesia (*M-Class only) for final assembly and sale in the local markets.
Starting in 2014, the Tuscaloosa plant will also produce the successor generation of the current C-Class for the North American market.
A new, especially dynamic SUV model series will begin to roll off the assembly line in 2015 as the plant’s fifth product.
