Mercedes-Benz growth in China continues with 186,720 units sold through November this year
  • The flagship S-Class drove further sales in 2012 for a year-to-date growth rate of 12%.
  • The locally-produced C-Class and E-Class sedans maintained their popularity in China with 18% and 11% respective growth rates thus far in 2012.
  • The GLK-Class led the way for Mercedes-Benz SUV models with a 19% growth rate for the first 11 months of the year.
  • smart provided urban mobility to many more Chinese customers with a strong growth of 41% so far this year.
Mercedes-Benz China posted sales of 186,720 units of Mercedes-Benz, smart, AMG, and Maybach vehicles through the end of November 2012, a year-to-date growth of 7%.
The elegance of the S-Class was ever-more evident in China with 30,670 premium sedans sold thus far in 2012 for an increase of 12%.
The pillar sedan models made a strong contribution to Mercedes-Benz overall sales with the C-class posting sales for the first 11 months of 28,840 units and a growth of 18%, and the E-Class delivering 37,150 sedans and a growth of 11%.
The GLK SUV proved to be the ideal choice for both urban driving and off-road adventure selling 25,710 units with a 19% growth rate in the first 11 months.
Sports car enthusiasts continued to embrace the refined style of the CLS sports sedan as well as the excitement of the SLK roadster, which respectively posted year–to-date sales of 6,280 units and 2,930 units for impressive growth rates of 101% and 179%.
smart’s eye-catching new iceshine model helped boost sales in China to an all-time high of 14,700 units so far this year for a growth rate of 41%.
