Untertürkheim is the company's parent plant. Daimler has concentrated the development, production and shipment of engines, transmissions and axles for the Mercedes-Benz Cars division at the Untertürkheim location. Untertürkheim produces axles, transmissions and engines for more than one million vehicles annually. The plant makes Daimler the region's biggest employer. In 2006 the Untertürkheim location also became the site of Daimler AG's administrative headquarters.
