New head of Legal & Compliance at Daimler

The Board of Management of Daimler AG has reached the following personnel decision:

Dr. Gero Herrmann (53), at present President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda., will become the new head of Daimler’s Legal & Compliance department as of November 1, 2009. He will replace Gerd Becht, who will move to Deutsche Bahn (German Railways).

After his law studies, Herrmann began his career in 1988 as assistant to the head of Mercedes-Benz Argentina. He moved to Stuttgart in 1991 to become head of the chief executive’s administrative office at the Trucks division. The following year, he was given responsibility for bus sales in Mexico. Subsequently, Herrmann was in charge of worldwide program and market management for Mercedes-Benz Cars, after which he was made head of sales in Brazil in 2002. Since August 2004, he has been President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda.
