Triple victory in the Argentine Touring Car Grand Prix 50 years ago: fourth triumph in a row for Mercedes-Benz
Fifty years ago Mercedes-Benz dominated the 8th Argentine Touring Car Grand Prix (“VIII Gran Premio Internacional de Turismo Super Nafta YPF”) with yet another sparkling performance. At the end of the race (which ran from 28 October to 7 November 1964), the model 300 SE “Tailfin” Saloons (W 112) occupied the first three places in the overall rankings.

“Racing Tailfin” from Mercedes-Benz Classic to compete in the FHR Endurance Cup at the 10th Westphalia Trophy event
The “Racing Tailfin” returns to the Nürburgring: at the ADAC Westphalia Trophy, to be held for the tenth time between 17 and 19 October 2014, the works racing car from Mercedes-Benz Classic will be joining the starting line-up for the Dunlop FHR Endurance Cup. Since its premiere in 2011, this Mercedes-Benz 220 SE from the W 111 model series, prepared by Mercedes-Benz Classic for participation in historical motor racing activities, has been making its mark on the race circuit.

30 years of the 124 series: exemplary for aerodynamics, lightweight construction and safety

120 years of motor sport: Mercedes-Benz Classic at the Classic Days Schloss Dyck 2014
The Classic Days Schloss Dyck will be taking place for the ninth time from 1 to 3 August 2014. This year, Mercedes-Benz Classic will be attending the Rhineland venue with five original vehicles spanning 120 years of motor sport history: inspired by the theme of racing records, the brand is bringing a unique version of the C 111 research vehicle with a V8 engine to the moated castle along with a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLS (W 198) and a Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 (model series 201) that broke records at the Nardò test track.

The history of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
In the 1950s, a very special star rose in Stuttgart: the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was born. It all began with motor racing sports. With its successes in international competitions, in 1952 the 300 SL competition sports car (W 194 series, “SL” stands for “Super-Light”), became the initial spark for the start of two fascinating production sports cars – the “Gullwing” coupé and the roadster: the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and 190 SL laid the foundation for the tradition of this legendary sports car family in the year 1954.
