Mercedes-Benz Classic Calendar 2016: Twelve months of fascination with Mercedes-Benz Classic
With the title "Fascination of Mercedes-Benz Classic", the new wall calendar from Mercedes-Benz Classic presents outstanding vehicles from the history of the Mercedes star. The calendar measuring 69 x 49 centimetres costs € 29.90. It can be ordered online from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Store with immediate effect. Delivery will take place at the end of October.

Brand with motorsport in its DNA: Mercedes-Benz at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2015
Staged every year in August, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is a superlative meeting of the finest automobiles from all over the world. In honour of the racing driver Sir Stirling Moss, who will attend this year's event to be held on 13 to 16 August 2015 in California, Mercedes-Benz Classic will be represented with the iconic 300 SLR and W 196 R from 1955, a historic year in the annals of motorsport. A rare Mercedes-Benz C 111 from the Mercedes-Benz Classic collection will round off the brand's presence at the event.

At the Classic Days Schloss Dyck 2015, Mercedes-Benz Classic is reawakening fond memories of the outstanding victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia: from 31 July to 2 August 2015, a vehicle display in the paddock and special Mercedes-Benz demonstration runs will commemorate the success stories associated with this legendary 1000-mile race.

Mercedes-Benz Classic starts at the 2015 Eifel Rally Festival with a 450 SLC: The South America victor with V8 heart in the Eifel
The Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC rally car and star of the 1978 “Vuelta a la América del Sud” long-distance rally puts in a gala appearance at the fifth ADAC Eifel Rally Festival from 23 to 25 July 2015. The event takes place in and around the City of Daun: one of the original coupés with which the brand from Stuttgart scored a glorious one-two victory at the time, will be driven at the Rally Festival by Andrew Cowan (the 1978 winner) and Klaus Kaiser as well as by the team Hannu Mikkola/Arne Hertz.

Mercedes-Benz Classic works racing car in Youngtimer Trophy: 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II enters the 2015 Spa Youngtimer Festival
Appearance for two of the stars of DTM history: Between 17 and 19 July 2015 Roland Asch will be driving the Mercedes-Benz works racing car 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II when he enters the Youngtimer Trophy in Spa, Belgium. 25 years ago the car, christened EVO II for short, celebrated its premiere in the then DTM. The touring car based on the W 201 quickly established itself as a superb DTM vehicle and clocked up no less than 25 wins.

October 1953 – Hans Herrmann breaks Solitude lap record: Solitude Revival 2015: Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Hobel" in the starting line-up
A unique gem from the Mercedes-Benz Classic collection will be in the starting line-up at Solitude Revival 2015: the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL with chassis end number 00011/53, affectionately known as the "Hobel" ("carpenter's plane") on account of its striking front-end design. The event will take place from 17 to 19 July 2015 and celebrates the former race circuit just outside Stuttgart and the motorsport successes attained there.

The history of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
In the 1950s, a very special star rose in Stuttgart: the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was born. It all began with motor racing sports. With its successes in international competitions, in 1952 the 300 SL competition sports car (W 194 series, “SL” stands for “Super-Light”), became the initial spark for the start of two fascinating production sports cars – the “Gullwing” coupé and the roadster: the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and 190 SL laid the foundation for the tradition of this legendary sports car family in the year 1954.
