A lightweight, robust design, low kerb weight and high load capacity are not contradictory in the case of the new Axor. Whether being used on the building site or as a special-purpose municipal vehicle, the versatile truck in the 18 to 32 t weight category makes no compromises.
Tailor-made drivetrains, either with economical BlueTec engines or optionally even meeting the strict EEV standard, help to ensure high levels of economic efficiency and environmental compatibility. Depending on the application variant, the Axor is available with a power output of up to 315 kW (428 hp). The 6 or 9-speed transmissions offering ease of shifting enhance delivery of the tractive power. Some models are also available with the optional Mercedes PowerShift automatic transmission. A wide variety of practical details in the driver's cab also enhance ride comfort and user convenience.
Visitors to Ifat Entsorga can experience the benefits of the Axor when used for municipal services solutions first hand in the demonstration areas. The exhibits on display there include an 1833 AK 4x4, in the form of a three-way dump truck fitted out with winter service equipment.
The 18-tonne vehicle is driven by a powerful 240 kW (326 hp) BlueTec 5 inline six-cylinder engine, and as such meets the Euro 5 emissions standard. The S-cab with 180 mm extension has a driver's comfort suspension seat, ergonomic controls and safety-relevant equipment.
The Küpper-Weisser body is a FullWet liquid de-icer with a tank capacity of 8250 litres (5 x 1650 l PE cascaded tanks), a spray width of 3.75 to 11.25 m, a spray density of 5 to 40 g/m² in 5 g stages and a maximum spray speed of 80 km/h. The special features of this body, which is designed specifically for the application of salt solution, include the ThermoMAT CT11 infrared road temperature measuring equipment and the RollTEC 16 t quick stacking device.
