Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin comes to magnificent close: Berlin once again among Europe’s key fashion metropolises

Stuttgart/Berlin – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has bathed the German capital in glance and glamour for the last four days. On its last day also the pair of newlyweds Lilly and Boris Becker showed up. Driving up to Bebelplatz in the elegant new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé, the couple was looking forward to another visit at Berlin’s top fashion event. For the upcoming spring/summer season, they got inspired by the Kaviar Gauche show.
With 33 runway shows along with six presentations and events, the fifth edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin was larger than ever. “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin is a success story,” said Anders Sundt Jensen, Vice President Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars. “With each season, we’ve seen more designers, guests, journalists and stars take part. This shows that the mix of major designer labels with up-and-coming new talents is successful. It also has restored Berlin to its place among Europe’s key fashion metropolises, and therefore we’ll be sticking to this concept. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has a special fascination, uniqueness and vitality – just like the Mercedes-Benz brand.”
Suzy Menkes, the International Herald Tribune’s legendary fashion critic, also underlined the international significance of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Attending the fashion event on Bebelplatz for the first time, Menkes was delighted with what she saw. “I think it is terrific that there is a fashion week in Berlin, and also I think it will be wonderful if it took in the designers of central Europe. So that then Berlin will become a hub for the whole region showing fashion as it is to the rest of the world.”
