Kortrijk/Ulm – The trade journals Omnibusrevue and Busfahrer have bestowed the Green Coach Award on the Setra S 415 GT-HD of the ComfortClass. The touring coach made a particularly strong impression with its fuel efficiency and now holds the title Green Coach 2011.
Lothar Holder, Director of Sales, Setra Bus and Coach unit, EvoBus GmbH: "I am especially happy about this prize because it proves that the S 415 GT-HD is the most economical touring coach for the coach operator. Total sales of more than 5500 units of the ComfortClass 400 speaks for itself!"
The Green Coach Award
All test reports of the past two years are evaluated to confer the Green Coach Award. In all, the trade journals Omnibusrevue and Busfahrer tested seven two-axle touring coaches. All vehicles were loaded to a gross weight of approximately 18 tons with 100 kg per seat. At the end of the demanding test route covering some 600 km through Germany's Saxon Switzerland region – test editor Sascha Böhnke personally drove all coaches himself – the fuel consumption of the test vehicle was measured. A fuel efficiency formula makes allowance for the exact weight of the test coach.
The S 415 GT-HD attained the best fuel efficiency among the tested two-axle touring coaches and is the Green Coach 2011. The award is presented annually, for a touring coach one year and an urban bus the next year.
ComfortClass 400 as "Final Edition"
As "Final Edition" with exclusive appointments, the most economical touring coach, the S 415 GT-HD, is the centrepiece of the Setra stand at Busworld in Kortrijk.
The Final Edition of the Setra ComfortClass is fitted with dark-tinted "Galaxsee" side windows and sparkles with brushed stainless steel mouldings. At Setra, small details, too, always create big effects. The cockpit, with bird's-eye maple trim, underscores the exclusive character of the touring coach, as does the backlit white Setra logo on the step at the front entrance. Passengers can make themselves comfortable in 49 Voyage Plus seats with leather head sections. The printed leather centre portions of the backrests, seat cushions and head sections are matched to the coach's exterior design. The high-quality seats feature adjustable, thickly padded backrests as standard, lateral adjustment, double grab handles, a folding armrest on the aisle side, plus a luggage net.
