ViaVan Technologies B.V. is a joint venture between Via Transportation Inc. and Daimler Vermögens- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. The company's goal is to further develop and establish the joint on-demand ride-pooling service ViaVan in Europe. ViaVan is a mobility alternative that complements the urban public transport network.
It can be booked easily and flexibly via app. The technology originates from US start-up Via, while the conventionally or electrically powered vehicles come from Mercedes-Benz Vans. As part of their long-term partnership, Mercedes-Benz Vans and Via are also working on the development of intelligent mobility solutions – from sensor systems to fleet management for electric vehicles to autonomous driving.
ViaVan is already active in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and Milton Keynes. Working in close collaboration with cities and public transport companies, ViaVan complements the existing transport infrastructure and helps to prevent congestion and emissions in cities.
