About the Mercedes-Benz Kassel plant
The Mercedes-Benz Kassel plant was founded as "Hannomag-Henschel-Fahrzeugwerke GmbH" in 1969 and for more than 50 years has been producing, among other products, axles for commercial vehicles.
The plant is the global competence center for commercial-vehicle axles at Daimler AG. With around 3,000 employees it is Europe's largest commercial-vehicle axle plant and the largest industrial employer in the city of Kassel. Using pioneering manufacturing processes, the workforce produces axles for trucks, busses, vans and cars, propshafts, and gear sets, among other components.
