With more than a hundred-year history, the Mercedes-Benz Sindelfingen plant is a long-standing Mercedes-Benz AG vehicle plant and a centre of excellence for vehicle manufacturing, and will also produce premium and luxury class electric vehicles as part of the global production network in the future.
The Mercedes-Benz flagship S-Class model rolls off the assembly line in Sindelfingen. In addition, the successful E-Class series with the saloon, T-Model and the all-terrain off-road variants as well as the Mercedes-AMG GT family are produced at the location. The Mercedes-Benz GLC will also be manufactured in Sindelfingen beginning in 2022.
In the immediate vicinity of the plant are the Mercedes-Benz Cars production organization’s central functions, including production planning, TECFABRIK, logistics and quality management as well as the Mercedes-Benz Cars purchasing organization headquarters. The proximity to the central functions makes the Sindelfingen location unique.
The Sindelfingen production plant is also home to Daimler AG's corporate research as well as Mercedes-Benz Cars development and Mercedes-Benz AG design.
Sindelfingen’s Factory 56 is one of the most modern automobile production facilities in the world: Factory 56 systematically implements innovative technologies and processes in vehicle production across the board. Factory 56 is a blueprint for future Mercedes-Benz Cars vehicle production worldwide. In future, additional electric vehicle batteries will be produced at the site. Sindelfingen will thus become a part of the Mercedes-Benz Cars global battery production network, which has operations on three continents.
Sindelfingen is one of the world's leading competence centres for security, innovation and design. In total, around 35,000 people are employed at the location.
The Mercedes-Benz Sindelfingen customer centre is located right next to the plant, where around 350 vehicles are delivered every day. The customer centre shop stocks an extensive array of unique products of the finest quality as well as a choice of car accessories.
