30 Years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall: A Look Back

The Berlin Wall came down on November 9, 1989. People who had previously been separated for decades by a boundary wall were hugging each other in Germany and celebrating freedom and the beginning of a new era together. It was a historic night for Germany and for the whole world.

How did Daimler employees experience this night and the subsequent reunification of the two Germanys? What did the separation and reunification of the two Germanys mean for these individuals? In line with the theme of “history viewed from different perspectives,” Daimler employees get a chance to speak and tell their personal stories about love transcending borders, new hopes, difficult new beginnings, and a young man’s first skateboard.
