Roman Zitzelsberger

Roman Zitzelsberger was born on August 30, 1966 in Ettlingen in the district of Karlsruhe (Germany). He began an apprenticeship as machine fitter at the former Daimler-Benz plant in Gaggenau in 1984. Subsequently, he worked at the plant as measuring technician and machine operator and obtained an advanced technical degree in mechanical engineering.

During his apprenticeship, he was already active as ombudsman and youth representative for IG Metall and subsequently became union secretary in Gaggenau in 1989. In 1996, he was elected as second authorized representative and in December 2003 as first authorized representative of IG Metall in Gaggenau. In addition to his job, he completed the Fernuni Hagen courses in business administration and completed a study program at the Malik-Management-Center in St. Gallen with a master’s degree in Management in 2011.

Roman Zitzelsberger has been active as district manager of IG Metall Baden-Württemberg since December 2013. In February 2015, he negotiated his first pilot agreement for the metal and electrical industries.

Roman Zitzelsberger is a member of the following further legally mandatory supervisory boards and comparable supervisory bodies:

In addition, he is also a member in many economic policy and state policy-making bodies.
