Not everyone can write code. But anyone can have an idea that helps Daimler. Promoting and exploiting this pool of creativity within the Group is the aim of #ideate.
Our overall process leads from the generation of ideas through various formats (such as hackathons and OpenSpaces) to the selection of the best ideas, their evaluation by all of our employees, and the subsequent implementation of the top ideas. Various implementation channels are available for putting these ideas into practice. The DigitalLife Hub offers a Group-wide employee community for our Daimler “intrapreneurs” and many different kinds of support (e.g. pitch preparation, idea coaching, networking, and contacts).
The momentum from outside is at least as important as the employees’ ideas. A further component of #ideate is the DigitalLife Campus, our global hackathon series. This is where students from outside the company cooperate with our specialist units to program task definitions that are relevant to the future. In this way we bring fresh new ideas into the company and get talented young people with key qualifications enthusiastic about Daimler.
