From Brescia to Rome and back. It is one of the most fascinating events on four wheels: The “Mille Miglia”.
The “Mille Miglia” is held since 1927. The close ties between the thousand-mile race in Italy held since 1927 and the brand bearing the three-pointed star goes almost as far back. Mercedes-Benz is part of the race since 1930 and supports the “Mille Miglia” as an automotive sponsor. Since 1977 the event has been held as a regularity rally for historic automobiles.
Mercedes-Benz will also be present in this years “1000 Miglia” (16 to 19 May 2018) with a host of vehicles from the corporate collection.
The greatest successes include the victory of Rudolf Caracciola as the first non-Italian driver in 1931, and the sensational success of Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson in 1955, with the overall victory and a still unbeaten record time of 10 hours, 7 minutes and 48 seconds.
