Digitization, Industry 4.0, automotive revolution — these are all buzzwords that have been accompanying us at Daimler for some time now. In this process, it is important to us to continuously inform our employees about new developments and show them the digital transformation at Daimler. For this purpose, we have the DigitalLife Day.
In 2017 the DigitalLife Day took place for the third time. About thousand interested Daimler employees came to Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart. And it was quite an agenda.
Information, Innovation, and Inspiration!
DigitalLife Day has three objectives: information, innovation, and inspiration. One day's schedule was packed with information for our employees about the most recent digital topics, trends, and innovations. We also gave them the opportunity to talk to experts and colleagues, exchange information, and be inspired to link up for future collaborations. Moreover, in an ideas competition ten teams of employees had the chance to pitch their ideas about digital services and participate in the creation of digital transformation at Daimler.
If you give precise instructions, the best you can hope for is what you expected. If you give the team more freedom, ideas may arise that go much, much further. The purpose of the DigitalLife Day is to find and promote exactly these kinds of ideas.
The DigitalLife Day has demonstrated that digitalization is full of potential – just like our employees.
