Car-to-X Communication Recognising dangers earlier, avoiding accidents

The Car-to-X technology informs the driver in good time about dangerous situations such as broken-down vehicles, accidents or bad weather – and in future drivers will be warned about roadworks, too.

The new E-Class takes another major step towards fully autonomous driving. In addition, it enhances efficiency, safety and comfort, reduces the stress level when driving and intensifies the motoring pleasure.

Intelligent connectivity

An intelligent communications module provides for a reliable and secure connection between vehicle and Daimler Vehicle back-end via VPN link (Virtual Private Network), that is, via specially protected servers. The eSIM technology is deployed here, enabling users to switch mobile phone provider without having to replace their SIM card.

Roadworks send out warnings

Hesse is the first federal state in Germany to deploy a warning system with Car-to-X transmission technology in all trailers which are used to secure daytime road construction sites.

This provides protection not only for motorists, but also for road maintenance and construction personnel who may be working in the central reservation around a bend on a motorway, for example.
