Mercedes-Benz Ludwigsfelde plant

Mercedes-Benz Vans has been successfully building vans in Ludwigsfelde for 25 years. More than 660,000 vehicles have rolled off the line since 1991.

Last year, the workforce of about 2,000 employees produced just over 50,000 vans, a significant increase over 2014 and a feat last achieved in 2008. Ludwigsfelde plays an important role in the global production network of Mercedes-Benz Vans. It is Daimler's third-largest van plant in the world and the only plant in Europe for the open versions of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. In addition, the plant plays a leading role in the network with respect to innovative production systems.

At present, Mercedes-Benz Vans is making the Ludwigsfelde Plant fit for the future and is setting the course for the production of the next Sprinter generation. The business unit will invest € 150 million into the plant by the end of the decade, € 50 million of which was invested in 2016 alone.
