The Mercedes-Benz Berlin Plant is an important component of the Powertrain production network and the second-largest employer of the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
The plant is a hi-tech site for the production of components involving technologies for reducing CO₂ emissions. These technologies include the innovative CAMTRONIC engine timing system. The location is the center of competence for this variable valve lift adjustment system and thus is unique in the global Powertrain production network. In addition, the Berlin product range comprises the manufacture of transmission parts and components, fuel systems, camshafts, pumps and the production of diesel engines. The plant currently has over 2,500 employees. The Mercedes-Benz Berlin Plant, founded in 1902, is the oldest production plant of the Group.
