Premature babies and newborns with medical issues must be treated – in many cases also in intensive care. They will often need several weeks or months of treatment at the hospital.
"Starting life too early or with illness..." the "Förderkreis für intensivpflegebedürftige Kinder Ulm e.V." (support organization for children in need of intensive care Ulm) accompanies and supports parents and children in these tough times. Now with more than 700 families, friends and supporters as members, it has become Germany's largest organization representing the demands of the children.
The organization is constantly working to acquire the new medical equipment required to improve the treatment of children in need of intensive care. Previous purchases include a retina camera to support further training in newborn care in Burkina Faso, Africa.
The number of children and babies suffering from cancer and immune deficiencies is increasing drastically and a "Sigma" multifunction unit makes treatment so much easier. For this purpose, Daimler ProCent is supporting the club 3.000 Euro.
